Successfully Managing Change in Organizations: A Users Guide is a book designed to help those who have been assigned the difficult task of implementing successful change initiatives. This book provides the details and techniques needed to understand the process and help the organization make the change.
The Journey - A Business Novel
The Journey is unique. It is a story about
how ATPCo (a ficticious company) addresses the need for change in light of events that threaten its very existence. It is a valuable learning tool that provides you with the essential concepts for successfully managing change within your own company in a business novel format.
Improving Maintenance and Reliability Through Cultural Change addresses the soft skills presented in my first book in greater detail. It also introduces the concept of organizational culture and explains why you must change the culture if you are going to successfully introduce long lasting change to your organization .
Asset Data Integrity Is Serious Business
Physical asset data integrity is a critical aspect of every business, often the most valuable asset on the balance sheet. The data that we have about our assets creates information, provides for accurate analysis and facilitates sound business decisions. This book will not only provide an appreciation of this fact, it will also provide a road map to achieving value out of something most CEOs, managers, and workers often overlook
Improving Reliabilty and Maintenance from Within. This unique book is perfect for those who are internal consultantsand may not know it to recognize the value of their efforts and help them learn the skills required to optimize their performance. It explains the internal consultants role and describes the various tasks in which they become engaged.
Meauring Maintenance Workforce Productivity Made Simple
Increased productivity is perceived as a business value and that is what most maintenance reliability professionals work to achieve. But how can you measure productivity? This book provides a simple guide to measuring improvement that is easy to understand, easy to use, low to no cost and easy to implement.

About Change
The problem most organizations make is that they only address "task-based" change. This narrow focus is the pathway to failure. There are two additional levels that reside below the surface. Read about these two critically important aspects the the change process. Make sure that they are addressed if you wish your effort to be successful.

Learn about the Web of Change. Read the directions and take the web survey to create your own web. While the questions are generic if you reference them to your effort at change the web will point out your opportunities for improvement. An even better tool is to create organizationally specific questions that will enable you to gather even more pertinent information about your effort. Ask me how?
Did you ever wonder why one of your task-based efforts has failed. The answer is that one or more of the eight elements of change was not adequately addressed. If you want to know which ones need further attention answer the eight questions (one for each one of the eight elements). The associated web diagram will immediately show you where attention is needed. This is also a good tool to show management wherte their help is needed. After all our goal is to have our efforts succeed.

Reading my books about implementing successful change in the reliability and maintenance
arena is really only the first step. Once you have read the material and recognized the value
associated with successfully implementing change in your company, the next step is to introduce the
subject and the related change management tools to your organization. This can be accomplished by training those who need to understand and be involved in the process.
Currently there are three ways to obtain this training.
Private Training Workshops
The most beneficial method is to hold a training workshop at you plant site or office. These sessions can be either one or two days and are customizable based on your needs. If you would like to discuss a private workshop contact me and we can discuss what you want presented and how I can best deliver it to your organization.
On Line Training - Through The Reliability Institute
Recently released through The Reliabilty Institute - a 23 module blended B-Learning course about how to successfully manage change in your organization. This program is on-line but also instructor supported. It provides maximum benefit at the learners own pace. Contact me for more details. You won't be disappointed!
Conference Workshops
I also present my material at reliability and maintenance conferences. Over the last few years I have presented at many conferences including; the Society of Reliability and Maintenance Professionals (SMRP), the International Maintenance Conference (IMC), and the Maintenance and Reliability Technical Summit (MARTS). Contact me and I will let you know when and where my next public workshop will be held.
The first step in allowing me to assist you with your change initiative is to contact me.
Let me know your issues and I will get back to you in short order.
